Following the Taliban’s restriction on women attending school in the nation, Iran is preparing to admit more female Afghan students, local news outlet IRNA reported on Tuesday.
According to a representative of Tehran University, Iran would be able to assist more Afghan students in 2023, particularly women.
According to IRNA, Iran has five times increased the cash allocated to Tehran University for scholarships for Afghan students.
Tehran University currently has 470 Afghan students enrolled, with roughly a quarter of them being female.
The source said that more over half of these students are recipients of scholarships. Iran declared that it was prepared to offer special facilities for Afghan women students when the Taliban closed universities for female students.
Iran has also drawn criticism from other countries for its ruthless suppression of statewide rallies, which were led by women.
The majority of those enrolling in Iran’s modern higher education system, which is funded by the Islamic Republic, are women.
Iran is a Muslim nation, and it frequently receives criticism for its Islamic laws. In the Islamic Republic, women are systematically disadvantaged.
